Thanks to Pinterest, I decided to make the girls a Felt Christmas Tree this year. Sadly, I didn't put up our tree. I, like most Americans, like to put up my tree the day after Thanksgiving. Since we're in Italy, Carlo and I have debated this topic the last 3 years. Most people put up their decorations on December 8th which is the holiday that celebrates the Immaculate conception and the initial start of the Christmas season.
While that's all great, by the 8th of December, I am so not in the mood to put up a tree. I have no energy and I'm not excited to do it. Not to mention that we've rearranged our furniture AGAIN and so there's not much space for a tree OR my Nativity scene OR the simple lights I put on top of my china cabinet. I feel a bit like Scrooge.
Valentina has been asking about our tree and I was not going to let a her have a Christmas without one. Sadly, Elisabetta's first Christmas doesn't include a tree. I didn't think about that when I decided to not put it up. Sorry Betta. I'll make it up next year. The picture I used for my Photo a Day was this one of the hearts. I hadn't figured out how to stick my tree on the wall. Tape didn't work and I don't know if there is even a place that sells 3M command strips which is what the blogger that I got this idea from recommended.
The next day while the girls were taking their nap, I decided to try using some Blu-Tack (aka Sticky Stuff the teachers use in school.) I had some left over from my teaching materials and it works perfectly! Valentina plays with this tree every day and said it was the "best tree ever"! I'm waiting for my mom's package which included more felt so I can make more decorations. I hate that everything here is so freakin' expensive. I bought 3 squares of felt and it costs me almost 5euros!!!

What is 5 euros translated to dollars?
I looked it up on a currency converter. $6.60....yikes! That is double than it is here!
